another turning point, a fork stuck in the road

No, I'm not gonna get all soppy and emo. I'm ecstatic to be out of that hellhole.

Graduation was nice. G-d bless the alphabet, me and Callie got to sit next to each other and make snide comments the whole time. They got Mo's name wrong again but it was pretty funny. Nothing super hilarious happened, it was just stiflingly hot. I got some great pictures though, I love my little camera. Whenever a band member was called up, the underclassmen band would make tuba noises and stuff. It was funny. Then afterwards we all mingled and took pix and then me and Mom and Marty went out to dinner.

So I'm officially a freshman in college. Cool. Well I mean I kind of am, Nativ is sort of a transitional. I need to start my countdown. Ah, Israel... lately I've been dreaming that I spoke fluent Hebrew and people have been speaking it to me and it's been awesome.

CCY was almost exactly one year ago.
Pilgrimage was two years ago.
I started high school four years ago.

My black belt test is today.
My and Zack's parties are tomorrow
We leave for Dewey on Sunday.

Dewey is going to be fucking awesome. Like I can't even tell you how awesome.
And then Alaska in August.
And Israel in September.

I was thinking recently how me and my mom had been planning to go to haEretz when I was in seventh grade. ASHA or somebody was having a conference there and my mom was invited. (That's how we travel a lot - my mom's a well known speech therapist and we get invited places) But then something happened...I don't remember what. I wasn't paying attention, I didn't really have a connection with Israel back then. But the conference got cancelled and we didn't go. That was....2000 I think. Sad. But it's better now. Better than it was anyway.

My future is looking mighty bright, I might need to wear sunglasses.

alas, poor yorkie. i knew her, harold.

Florida is arguably the most awful place in the world. Like seriously. I'm not even gonna talk about it anymore.

Things Vv is Looking Forward To:
Thursday: Graduation and stuff, Wendy's party after
Friday: Hangin out with Ari, training Corinne at Athens
Saturday: My party, Zack's party
Sunday: Dewey!!!

Things Vv is NOT Looking Forward To:
Friday: Black belt test. Fucking terrified.

So yeah. If I could just skip over Friday it would all be awesome. By the way, I am writing this post on my brand-bitchin new LAPTOP, on my bed. It's beautiful, a little black Macbook, OS X and everything. I named it Horatio cuz it's my sidekick. For a piece of plastic, it is beautiful. I got TurboCAD too but I have yet to immerse myself in it. I also need to do this Mac tutorial thing my mom got, and go back to CompUSA to get a memory card for my camera and to figure out why the software for my mp3 playa is not installing. I'm up to my ears in technology here.

Anyways, tomorrow is G-ddamn grad practice which means I have to wake up at a decent hour. Blech. I'll probably just be up all night fiddlin anyway. Good morrow, as it is morning now.

youth and french fries: the only things the world needs

Today was insane. Like INSANE. I shall describe it to you, in case you weren't involved in some way, which is unlikely. But here you go anyways.

Hokai, so. Woke up around 8:10, went to karate for 8:30. Annoying class, just going over material which I suck at under scrutiny, but it was helpful. Then I went home, took a shower, got all Shabbat-pretty, and made copies of the liability waivers for the black belt test. Then I took the waivers back to the studio, then rushed over to synagogue. One of Ari's students (he tutors the bar mitzvah kids) was having their bat mitzvah today. I couldn't help but smile and laugh when she finished her haftorah and everyone threw candy at her. It's just so joyful. During the oneg, the rabbi called me over and made an announcement about how I was going to Israel. It made me smile. Then I ate some delicious oneg food, which is always awesome for a bar/bat mitzvah. Then I rushed back home and changed into jeans and got swimming stuff together, and Marty took me over to Mo's for her graduation partay. It was sooooo crazy fun. We all ran around in the pool for a while until we started to freeze, then we got out and danced and played Cranium, which the girls SO won. Then we danced around some more and ate hot dogs and various other meats. THEN Susan took me to work, which wasn't too bad. THEN Ari picked me up and we went downtown, where the crew was planning to "fork" Mrs. Shearer's (the band director) front lawn. I had no idea what they were talking about. What happened was, they had 700-something plastic forks, and we snuck up, all like fifteen of us, on Mrs. Shearer's front lawn and stuck the forks in her grass. The dog started barking and we could hear her yelling at it, and we looked like spiders crawling all over her lawn. Then the dog howled, and we bolted back around the corner. It was crazy. I'm not even in the band. Then we went back to Cafe. There were SO many of us. I'm gonna attempt to name everybody.

Me, Ari, Adamo, D-Ratz, Mellie, Natalie, Hope, Ariel, Zack, Sandra, Alice, Jess, Carlos, Susan, Jen, Mandy, Ashley, Sean, Brad, and I think that's all. Probably more. That's a huge number, though.

Anyways. So we hung out at Cafe a while, and Ari impressed the hell out of everybody with his magical abilities, and I was very proud. And then Ari went home, and the rest of us hung out at the playground singing songs and watching Brad pole dance until it was time for everyone else to leave, and for me and Susan to go get sherbert. So we did that and then we discussed how amazingly awesome our summer was going to be, and then Susan dropped me off, and now here I am.

And I am fucking tired.

Goodnight.

to seek revenge may lead to hell, but everyone does it, if seldom as well as sweeney todd!

The best of my yearbook quotes (ie the funniest):

"Vv, AP English was more fun with you in it. I'll never forget your arguments with Emily in class. And don't give up on Keith! Have fun next year. I'm sure you'll do great." --Sandra

"Vv, I've known you for only about a year however, it's been a good friendship thus far, I really hope you enjoy your oversea trip and lets attempt to kep in contact though I'm terrible at committing. Anyway I'm sure life will be good to you." --Danny Boy

"Aviva! I'm gonna miss you! You are the coolest Jew I know. Like Jesus. Super. Good luck next year and if I never see you again I'll be sad. Yay seniors '06!" --C-Ho

"I love you. I'll miss you. Teach me how to use a bo staff and umm yeah...stay Jewish. Love Dan (the Jewish one)"

"OH yeah I get to be the first on this page, GO ME! ¿CUANDO? OH man I can't believe we're graduatin', I don't know what else to write but you need to call me this summer so we can hang out 'cause I'm gonna miss you (when you leave.) --Jen E. PS: Call me DO IT NOW"

"#1 - Aviva - How is it that 4 years have already flown by since I met you! Never forget your wifey and always stay in touch. Love Wifey." (Then I made her do it again cuz that one was totally lame and nonspecific.) "#2 - REDO!! WIFEY!!! It's time to renew our vows because my love for you has for sure not faded! As we embark upon our next 30 Powerade bottles, I'm sure our love shall only grow! LOVE, me."

"Aviva - I love the magic trick it's freaking amazing rock on." --Alex

"V.->V.->I. Time in honors English were fun. Good luck and thanks for being a great person." --Mr. Stengel

Brad's was funny because he signed it "Shoo Shoo Fontana."

"AVIVA! U+ME=US! You are insane, and you're right - this is the stupidest yearbook ever. But remember AP English - Scaramella and Greenstone! Remember Hamlet! Remember being a slacker extraordinaire! I'm going to miss you like crazy, so you better keep in touch or I'll kickbox you. Oh and keep ridin dirty, cuz woman, the way the time cold I wanna be keepin you warm... :) Plus you're the best "mother-in-law" I'll ever have. Uh...that's all. Love ya! --Susan :) (bathroom napkin = paper towels)

"Vv - That was a pretty sweet two-day run. If that's not love I don't know what is. We had good laughs. Have fun with life and good luck this summer. I'm sure I'll see you around." --Steve Bacon (he also drew a slice of bacon underneath)

on my ghetto report card i made the honor roll

This weekend was fun, as most of my weekends are.

I'm kind of too tired to explain it all, and I'm pretty sure you don't care, but here's the Reader's Digest version:

Friday: work...then Marty had all his idiot friends over and they were all drinking downstairs and I was REALY depressed cuz I couldn't go downstairs, and then Ari called and was like, I'm coming to get you, and I went out with him and he saved my life. And therefore is my hero.

Saturday: work, then a big group Cafe night, and Ari too, which was fun. We ate DELICIOUS crepe, and had good times, and then we went to Friendly's and got some sort of heart attack mix of fried foods and a brownie sundae, all of which was obviously also delicious.

Sunday: Me and Rachel took a ROAD TRIP to Suzanne's house in Longmeadow, Mass. It's only an hour and ten minute drive from my house!! We listened to the Lion King soundtrack on the way up. Then at the party it was a TON of USY peoples, like Rami and Matt Baram and Ariella and Allie and EVERYBODYS. And the food was kosher catering and totally amazing, and we ate wayyyyy too much of it. And then we went home and I went to work. Nobody mean called today, that was nice.

BLECH, school tomorrow. I'm just sick of it, I mean seriously, why do I even have to go anymore?
